Gratitude is a life-giving attitude that we need to nurture within ourselves.
It flows from an awareness of the goodness and blessing that is ours through Christ.
This truth ignites within us the response of gratitude in our hearts and reveals to others the abundant life we have through Christ as our Saviour, Provider and Friend.
At White River Methodist Church we encourage an “Attitude of Gratitude” which invites us to make personal expressions of thanksgiving acts.
Ways to donate
To our pantry ministry – gifts of non-perishable pantry items.
Seasonal goodies at Christmas time for hampers and special parcels
Ad hoc gifts towards the life and work of WRMC
Supporting fund-raising activities.
Regular Monthly commitments through our Planned Giving initiative.
The act of giving is a way of putting God first in all aspects of our life – in this case in money matters.
If giving becomes a kind of grinding obligation then it defeats the object of expressing thanks to God.
HOW CAN I CONTRIBUTE TO THE WORK OF THE LORD AT WRMC?
There are two main ways:
- Using weekly or monthly envelopes
- Transferring money directly into the Church Bank Account
In either case we ask members to complete a pledge card and return it (sealed in an envelope) to the church office or the Planned Giving Secretary.
A unique PG number is then allocated to the member.
This PG number is used on the envelopes or as the reference when making electronic fund transfers (EFTs).
In this way there is confidentiality and the link between names and numbers is known only to the PG Secretary and one other person (Not the Minister!)
Envelopes are normally distributed six monthly and contributions are acknowledged annually by the PG Secretary.
If you do not wish to make a ‘formal’ arrangement then you can use the Offering Bag during Sunday Church services.
